Looking Forward to Serving District 15

I look forward to representing you and our community in the Madison City Council. This position will give me the opportunity to participate in decisions that influence things that are near and dear to me such as parks and green space, lakes, affordable housing, and so many more critical areas of service that form and shape our growing city, our home. I look forward to expanding my community involvement and continue to use my resourcefulness and creative leadership skills to positively influence the community I love by creating a culture where diversity is embraced.

I am an innovative achiever with proven track record in implementing various complex projects.  One of the keys to my success is my approach as a collaborator, a skill I carried on as President of my neighborhood association.  My passions are Community, Sustainability, and Environment and I will work with you to achieve equity by modifying the access, reducing barriers, and increasing opportunities for engagement and participation.  Together, we will work to enhance services and support available and as needed, by modifying policies and practices.

I believe that our community shall reflect our shared values - safety, sustainability, and diversity.  To ensure continued growth and remain vibrant, it is critical and vital for the community to be engaged.  I will work to ensure that we are involved throughout the stages of developments, encourage engagement in the process, and increase awareness of issues that impact our communities.

As our community continues to grow, it is important that we develop infrastructure that provides equitable access beyond the physical space that includes amenities and social infrastructure which needs to be adapted over time to accommodate new needs and possibilities - schools, public transportation, housing, businesses.  I will work to promote a culture that is inclusive with integrated participation across community sectors and more importantly, encourage the advocacy to the ever-changing emotional and academic needs of children.

Environmental sustainability in our growing communities must be a priority as well, as it is the ecosystem that brings us all together and keeps our communities healthy.  I will work to promote environmental friendly culture and be proactive in that approach by working to provide access to public space and parks, preserve the diversity of our ecosystem - diversification of the urban canopies.
